AIR HANDLING UNITS/ ENERGY RECOVERY UNITS
The air handling units throughout the building are served by 480V 3 phase service. The two electrical services are split between the air handling units so that if one service fails, the other one can provide power to allow the units to run during a power outage.
CHILLERS/ COOLING TOWERS
The Chillers and Cooling Towers in the building require 460V 3 phase service and are split between the two electrical services to the building. This way, if one feed goes out, the building can still function on the other service.
BOILERS
The Boilers in the penthouse of the tower require only a 120V single phase electrical connection because they are fired by natural gas, so they only need electricity for starting up the boilers.
SPLIT SYSTEM UNITS
The split system units are all on emergency power to ensure that they still perform in case of a fire or other emergency.
UNIT HEATERS
The unit heaters heat the air electrically, so they require a large amount of the power supplied to the building.
LIGHTING FIXTURES
The lighting fixtures for the building are documented in the table below. F-1 is the most commonly used fixture in the office area according to the plans and provides lighting to most of the major mechanical spaces and office areas in the building.
