Architectural System
The following is a comprehensive collaboration of plans, drawings, figures, calculations, and explanations of the various architectural system aspects of the project site.
FMC tower’s architectural features include an angled, crystalline shape wrapped in a reflective curtain wall. The structure has a textured façade that is slightly curved and chamfered. The façade is also lifted, revealing the lobbies with glass walls and forming a covered colonnade.

Analysis
There are a few factors that went into the decision to make the building the way it is. The inspiration comes from the other 2 buildings in the Cira South Development. In the hopes of creating a monolithic system with the other buildings, the connection to Cira Green, the park on top f the parking structure, was created.
The discontinuous shape of the building was a result of the multiple uses, which required the office floors are wider than the residential. This is due to the fact that offices need to accommodate more people and equipment and the tenants probably require as much space as possible. The decision to make FMC tower a mixed use building, instead of just an office building, is that a 50-story office building would be harder to fill, so splitting it is better for business, because, not only will residential apartments will be convenient for people in the area, but also because from the business standpoint, apartments can be purchased whereas offices are not only rented. So, the owners will get some of their capital back faster with people buying the luxury apartments.
