Throughout the process of the AE 390 course and this project in particular, the essential tools for completely designing a building and its systems were explored and utilized. This will help in the senior design projects because it was an introduction to how a building is designed and built as a whole and explored the standard methods of analyzing and reverse engineering a building in an attempt to understand what the designers and engineers were thinking when they created the building. All of the tools learned throughout this course will be essential in the senior design process.
It is most likely that the Engineers and Architects used an integrated design method for the design of the FMC Tower. This is the most efficient way to design a building as it allows all trades to collaborate during the process and have their systems work with and for each other to perform the functions of the building.
